I have a MacBook Pro 13-inch 2016 w Intel Iris 550. It's connected to an OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock. I recently purchased a Dell U2717D monitor and connected it to the dock via the included DP to mini DP cable.

The monitor works, however, I get a very slight flicker on the lower part of the screen on occasion. The image doesn't switch off, it just jumps very briefly horizontally.

Here's a video showing the issue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ry774nm7gys9v8k/Flickering_U2717D.mov?dl=0

I tried resetting the SMC, but had no luck. Any thoughts?

Thinking next step might be to purchase a USB-C to DP cable.

@ofixler if it's the same issue as with MBP 15" 2016, CalDigit TS3 and Dell P2715Q, then USB-C to DP cable will work flawlessly, also you can enable MST on the display (there are three options - disabled, primary, secondary - you need the third one) and continue using DP to mini DP cable - it will stop flickering but will occasionally (rarely) lose right resolution right after you connect the dock, disconnecting and reconnecting instantly helps. Everything is OK with you laptop, display, dock and cable. Apparently there is some incompatibility with certain displays.
