So I have an Acer 22" AL2216W monitor as my external. When I plug my monitor into my Macbook Pro it doesnt seem to detect it. My Macbook Pro's monitor remains to be the main display and nothing appears on my external monitor. The only way to get it to work is if i go into system preference and then display and click on detect display.
It also causes problems when i disconnect the monitor. My Macbook Pro's monitor remains as a external and does not become the primary. I have put the Mac to sleep and wake it back up to fix it.
This was not an issue until recently and i have no idea why. Please help.....
