External monitor 'loginwindow' process

Whenever I plug in an external monitor - HDMI or USBC type - and as the computer is used, sleeps and woke again using either password or Touch ID the 'loginwindow' process continues to grow - sometimes to over 2GB of - until I restart.

Thie loginwindow process never swells when using the MBP standalone


Any ideal what is happening or how to solve?
