External Monitor resolution changed with El Capitan

My external monitor resolution has changed significantly since the update (about 1.5 inches on either side and 1 inch above and below of unused screen space). I've changed the display settings to all of the resolution options, including the hidden ones found when clicking on the Scaled drowpdown while holding down the Option key.

I've done a few searches and this is the only thing similar to my issue. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if there are any suggestions on how to fix this.
