I am going to purchase a BenQ V2420H monitor in the morning.

I am able to get it for 199€ so it is a good deal.

Now do I want to connect it to my Imac...

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 3 GB

Via the mini DVI to DVI or should I go with the mini DVI to VGA.

Or the Display port to DVI.

I am confused on which one to use. Any help would be great.

Your version of the iMac does not have Display Port (according to Mactracker). You would need the Mini-DVI to something adapter. I would recommend DVI over VGA.

I took your advice and it works perfectly.

Thanks
