external monitor

I have a 2010 27 iMac. Lion OS.

I will get a 24 inch LED Samsung external monitor shortly.

I have a Mini Display Port to VGA Adaptor and cable.

Are there any problems with this iMac using external monitors?

Would it behoove me to to with the DVI cable setup?

Any help greatly appreciated.

You'll have issues using the VGA connector with HDCP media like DRM iTunes purchases, and Netflix (I think?). If you use HDMI or DVI though, that's a digital connection that maintains HDCP functionality.
