External Monitor

Hey guys! I'm just playing around with my new mbp right now, and I was wondering do I hook up my external monitor when the mbp is off? or while it's on. Thanks and sorry if it's a stupid question

You can connect the external monitor when ever you would like really.. if the computer is on it will take a few seconds for the computer to adjust once you have plugged it in. Also, you can plug it in while the computer is off and boot from it by hitting the power button and closing the lid right away.
