External Monitors for MacBook

I'm looking into purchasing a new external monitor for my macbook, and we're trying to find a monitor that isn't an apple monitor (since they're very expensive) but that will have the same native resolution (1280 x 800). We have tried other monitors, but without the native resolution it's too fuzzy to read.

Any tips out there?
