External monitors

Probably this has been asked multiple times, though I can't seem to find an answer that is especially my case.

I have a Macbook Pro 2015 15" with the AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB GPU. On my desktop is three monitors.
Have watched several videos of people connecting three monitors to the MBP (from this era), but I just can't get it to work.

1x Displayport Adapter -> Hdmi
1x Displayport cable -> Hdmi
1x Hdmi -> Hdmi

What am I doing wrong here?

What is the macOS that you are using ?
second of all you can use Dell D6100 display docking station to your computer and get 3 or more monitors
