External on Airport Extreme?

I have a 1TB Lacie Big Disk I'm trying to hook up via Airport Extreme. I have it plugged in to the USB port and the ethernet ports of both the hard drive and Airport.

I can access it via FTP and HTTP just fine, but not through OS X. In the Airport Utility, no disks show under the base station. Are there additional steps to access the drive within OS X?
 
I'm just taking a guess here (and bumping) as I don't have an AE. Do you have to set it up through one of the airport utilities? alternatively, when you choose network from the sidebar of a new finder window is the drive visible?
