So my 800MHz G4 iMac died recently, and i wanted to salvage stuff from it. I got the HDD and the Superdrive out, and i found out i couldn't use the display as a second monitor.

The HDD and the Superdrive were connected via IDE cables. Does that mean i could plug my superdrive into my HDD case until i get a proper case for it?

I'm planning on getting a case soon. I wanted to use the iMac's bulb as storage for both the HDD and the Superdrive. Anyone got any recommendations on optical drive cases?

I might make another thread showing my project :D

This should work. Don't have any recs, but Plumax has always worked well for me for HDDs.
