External Projector and picture quality question?

So I have searched and read all about closing your screen puts your Mac Pro to sleep unless you have InsomniaX or use an external keyboard and such. My question is if you have a HD projo hooked up and keep the Mac open is it affecting the PQ of the projo. In other words if I closed the screen on the MBP would it improve my PQ on the projo. I have the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256 MB card and am just wondering if it matters....open or closed.

No. DVI is just another type of data cable. Why would it affect anything?

No, not the output of the cable but will having my screen open reduce the picture being sent to my projo. In other words if the lid is closed does all of the resolution that the card is capable of only go to the projo...make sense?
