I have a 2007 20 inch imac.
The screen resolution is 1680 x 1050.
The screen is square.

I recently got a 20 inch cinema screen.
It's resolution is also 1680 x 1050.
Now this screen is widescreen.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but will one of these not distort the image?

I have not wired up the cinema screen yet.
I'm using a 18.5 inch monitor which has a resolution of 1366 x 768.
This is widescreen monitor.

Surely a square and widescreen cannot have the same resolution without distortion?

Thanks.

I guess it due to the chunk under the imac screen that it looks more square than the cinema screen.

Hope to get the PSU for the cinema screen soon then ditch the lower res monitor.

As really annoying when move a window from imac to monitor it goes massive due to lower res.
