I have a 20" iMac that will be my station for connecting to the Internet and would like to start considering what external speakers would be a good addition.

My previous Cambridge Soundworks mini speakers for a 1997 Power Mac, which received kudos from MacWorld during an initial release, served me well. But I am not sure that Soundworks has an equivalent in today's market.

I would like as small a space-saving unit as possible yet that still offers rich, sonic capabilities and would visual enhance the desktop where my iMac sits, in preferably a white or silver color.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

These are, quite simply, stunning. Very small footprint and the sound is unbelievable. Really the most impressive sound I've heard for any 2.1 system.
The AEGO m are sold as ipod speakers, but they are way more substantial than that. The little satellite speakers have some heavy duty weight to them making them feel substantial.

They can be purchased in the states here:

They come in black too. Trust me... you won't be disappointed.
