I plan to buy iMac 27 5K with 512g SSD because the upgrade to 1TB costs another $500 for another 500g
With Sandisk Extreme pro 960g SSD, it costs around $300 for additional near 1 TB space
(I know the external SSD is only 1/3 speed of iMAC internal SSD (500 MB/s vs 1500 MB/s)

I use iMac for family photo/video editing and game with Boot camp, so there will be 120/512 g for Boot camp. Because I worry about Ransomware like cryptolocker in Windows could affect shared files in OSX, I don't want the Windows partition can access OSX partition. Therefore, I hope to split my external SSD as 2 partitions (around 300g with NTFS for Windows gaming, and 600g with HFS+ for OSX). I will install Paragon for MAC to access/manage NTFS partitions both in internal and external SSD. I never makes 2 partitions with an SSD before with 2 different format, so I need suggestion about such arrangement. Thanks a lot.

By the way, I know iMAC support UASP for USB 3.0 which can boost the speed, and I will choose external USB device with UASP. My another small problem is: if I connect the external USB device to USB 3.0 Hub (something like monitormate prostation), should i choose the Hub with UASP support or it doesn't matter?
