External trackpad + multitouch?

Does anyone know if an external trackpad connected to my Late 2008 Macbook Pro will support multitouch gestures? Thanks.

Multitouch requires specific hardware, most trackpads aren't multitouch capable. Its not likely your external is multitouch capable.

You are right that the hardware has to support multitouch, but he never said he had an external trackpad. He was asking if there are any that support it
