I have a MacMini with a MicroNet MiniMate IDE external hard drive.
The hard drive is USB, and usually mounts on startup. However, soon after trying to access a folder or file it unmounts and I get the "Device Removal" warning.
It usually remounts, but the same thing happens over and over. My files are all still intact on the drive.
I have checked cables and used different USB ports.
I CANNOT run DiskWarrior or Drive First Aid completely because the drive unmounts before the scans are complete.
Is this a sign of a bad USB port on the drive, or is the disk trashed? Any way I can resurrect this drive?
