External USB HDD not showing up

My external HDD is not showing up anymore. It is showing up on vista though. I tried connecting a friends external drive and that seems to work fine :(
is there some way to fix this?

okay,

Have you tried the disk repair utility user>applications>utilities>disk utility? See if you can see and repair using that.
Maybe it wasn't the driver and system files just got messed up.
 
nope. Not showing there either. The drive seems fine. I'm using it with vista!

Tried running the system profiler and I can see a Buffalo device under USB --> USB Hight-Speed Bus as USB2-IDE Bridge. (Its a buffalo HDD) This is so frustrating :mad:
