External USB hub for my Chromebook?

I like my Chromebook, but it only gives me two USB ports -- so I need something like a 4-port USB hub. But I keep reading about USB hubs that lose device connectivity if they're jostled even very slightly, cheap ports that tend to break, ports that don't perform as claimed with multiple peripherals etc. Can you personally recommend a USB hub that actually does a good job with your Chromebook? A unit that draws power from the computer would be ideal, but I'll settle for an externally-powered one if they're better.
