On the '08 Mac Pro (through firewire 400 on my display) the iSight still holds up pretty well for a (circa) nine year old product. Just one of those little things that makes you realize how well some of Apple's products have been and that it "just works" still, even on 10.8.

I've got an external iSight too, I never use it, but it still works great, better than the built in camera on most PC's sold today.

That's pretty cool, are you planning on replacing it or are you gonna run it to the ground? :D

I typically hold on to my stuff for as long as possible, the same iSight was also used on my 1.6 G5 & Powerbook G4 with the 20" Cinema (still use) I've had since 2005!

It's a lot easier to get longevity out of Apple products…

Funny, on my 2010 Mac Pro, my faithful iSight camera has stopped working since installing ML. I'm having to use a 400 to 800 adapter as the Mac Pro only has FireWire 800. The FireWire port on the 30" ACD has always been flakey.
