I've ordered a new Macbook Pro, and when it arrives, I'll be purchasing the 3-year fixed-term AppleCare+ plan.

Two questions:

1. I've heard I have 60 days within which to do so. I'm not sure whether that's 60 days from the purchase date, or from the delivery date.

2. I'm also wondering if the start date of the AC+ plan is on the date of purchase of AC+, or the date of purchase of the MBP, or the date of delivery of the MBP?

If it's the date of purchase of the AC+ plan, does that mean I'd get up to 2 months extra coverage by delaying the AC+ purchase?

If it matters, I'm in the UK

Thanks

Date of delivery of the MBP, maybe even be a few days before you receive it, I have seen effective date as the date it was shipped

Did you mean I have 60 days from the date of delivery to purchase AC+, or did you mean the AC+ will start from the date of delivery even if I purchase it a few weeks later?

I have gotten extra months coverage by delaying ac purchase.
However, there is a risk of having an accident before purchase of ac

Awesome, thanks! This is great, because the main reason I want AC+ is the risk of a fault developing that is expensive to fix.

I just need to make sure I understand the exact deadline for buying AC+, does the Mac display a countdown or deadline date?

If I remember right it has a purchase AppleCare option in settings and it will have a deadline date.

As the poster of above said I wouldn’t delay purchase of AppleCare once you get it set up. Murphy’s Law says it will break before you purchase it or you’ll forget to do it. Either one would be an expensive mistake. Apple will not help you in that scenario.
