Extra 4K Files With Downloads

Hi. With Parallels I work switching back and forth between the Mac and Windows side. Often when I download a pdf or other file into the Windows side an extra file with an almost similar name is there also, always 4KB big. What are these little files that I keep having to delete? Thanks
