Extra device under Text Message Forwarding

The partition i had for the public beta of Yosemite is showing up under "Text Message Forwarding" (SMS relay) in the settings for Messages.

I deleted the partition and didn't log out of iCloud or anything so it still thinks it's a device attached to my account. the Yosemite install i'm using now of the release version shows up so it's fine and it all works but is it possible to get rid of the other ghost "Mac"

same for me too, I have wiped my mac a couple times and actually have like 4 with the exact same name. VERY annoying.

A quick search would have easily let you know that changing your apple id password will solve the issue.

and why would i want to change my Apple ID? that sounds like a MASSIVE pain.

that would of fixed the issue when i had rouge iCloud tabs from deleted installs of OSX also but that doesn't mean that was the solution.

I don't know why you would want to change your apple id? I said change your apple id password.
