extra part in iPhone 6 plus box

hey guys. this isn't really a big deal, I was just curious if anyone would know why I recieved a lightning to micro USB adapter in my iPhone 6 plus box. I'm certainly not complaining haha, but just for curiosity really. purchase in the US at full retail price

Well I bought my 6 plus in a UK Apple store but didn't get the extra cable. Is the UK not part of Europe now?
