I keep having this issue when typing that my keyboard adds extra letters and words without me actually typing them. It's so frustrating that I can't seem to fix it. I changed the keyboard settings and everything. I had to re-write this post multiple times because it kept adding extra characters onto words.

Do you have an auto-correction/fill in utility for your browser installed? Are you a touch typist or do you look at the keyboard?

I had something like that happen to me several years ago. I let my teenage daughter use my computer for some "school work" and as it turned out she had gone into the text tab under the keyboard settings and added a number of custom replacement texts. You might check that out. Drove me crazy for a while.

Definitely a touch typist, and the characters that are added aren't even letters I typed.

I just tested it with another keyboard and don't have the same issues with it. Looks like my Macbook is covered under the keyboard issue so I'm taking it in to Apple tomorrow.

Just updated the OS, and it seems to be fixed for the most part. Definitely doesn't add extra characters now!

Stoked that an OS update fixed this issue. I was about ready to pull my hair out!
