Hi:D

Is there anyone with the new iPad who can somehow extract this lotus flower image in it's true resolution and post it here? Or just explain how I could do it if it's not too difficult. This has got to be one of my most favorite photographs of all time. Now with it's larger size i could finally use it as my wallpaper for OSX.

thanks

I wonder if you did a screen capture of it and then emailed it to yourself. What would the resolution be? Would it get downsized?

It would work, but I can't find a way to get only the wallpaper to show. There are always other things displayed over it.

If you go in to Settings and go to where you change the wallpaper and select your flower picture, you get the full picture with only an option bar across the top. Perhaps you could crop that out if you're using it as a wallpaper on your other computer.

I've used this method to make an iPhone version of an iPad wallpaper. What I want to do now is slightly modify the iPad one by overlaying my contact info, so I need the full, uncovered version. Thanks for the reply though!

Here's a screenshot I cropped to 1920 x 1200. If I can get the original, I'll post later.

I took a screenshot of it in landscape and portrait, blended them together and cloned in the corners.
It's not great, as iOS adds in a kind of vignetting effect on the wallpapers meaning I had dark parts on one image where they were light on the other, but the messy corners should be hidden on the iPad, hopefully its good enough for your contact info idea, not sure if its clean enough for a mac wallpaper though, up to you.

Try the iPhone backup extractor

Might be exposed in the backup.
I'm pretty sure the backup doesn't waste space storing an image it knows will be on the device it will be restored on to, it just stores something that tells it which image to use as the wallpaper. the only place you might be able to extract it from is the iOS software update files somehow.
