Got some incoming emails in which had a lot of "cc" email addresses. I want to add these to my Mac address book - but this is strangely difficult to achieve. As a non-Mac person (I prefer Windows and Ubuntu) I expected to be able to just select all the email address in the email header, and command-click or something to get them to transfer into the Mac Address Book.
From Googling the subject it seems it can be done by executing a script. Ugh.
Here's a quick and dirty solution:
Disable outgoing emails - e.g. turn off WiFi or pull out the cable.
Click "Reply All" on the email in question.
Delete the contents of the email if you are paranoid it might actually be sent out.
Click "Send"
The email will go sit in the Outbox but not actually go.
Go to Outbox and delete it!
Re-enable your WiFi or network.
In Mail go to Window - Previous Recipients - and there you'll see all the email address from the email you just deleted, plus others going back years, in chronological order. Select the ones you want and then click "add to address book". Unfortunately there seems no way to add these email addresses directly into a Group.
I can't believe I had to do that - seriously Apple - sort it out!
