Hi, does anyone know how to do the following:

1. Extract a video clip from a DVD, and

2. Extract an audio clip from a DVD (independent from #1).

This is from a movie DVD (Jurassic Park). I know this might not exactly be legal but it is completely for personal use so it should not be that big of an issue. Can Toast 8 do this? Or what program(s) might I need?

handbrake - easy as 123

Thanks. Two questions:

1. Can I choose where I want the clip to be? I can only find a way to record chapter by chapter. What I want is only about 15 seconds in the middle of a chapter.

2. Can I get just the audio instead of video as well?

you can just rip chapters in handbrake - qt pro or imovie 06 can export the soundtrack for editing say in garageband

I just tried using Handbrake and the files that it extracts from the DVD behave strangely in iMovie and iDVD - for a nine minute clip, iMovie says it will take 460 minutes to import. And I just started burning a DVD in iDVD - again, the same nine minute clip, and it says it will take six hours to burn. I left all the standard settings, using MP4 format. Why is it taking so long?
