Extreme Heat: iPhone got very hot, battery discharge

Just at work, was checking my e-mail on my iPhone, doing a little internet. I put it to sleep and put it in my pocket, few minutes later it must have been 110 degrees F when I felt it.

I immediately turned it off and waited to restart. Do I take it to Apple Genius?

Definitely, that is not normal and smacks of a bad battery. They should replace it, no questions asked.
