Ok for starters ill list my setup.
Airport Extreme base station. i have a Rcn docsis 2.0 modem feeding the AEBS. from that i go wireless to my 2- 2011 Macbook Pros. 15" highend and 13" low end both running osx lion 10.7.2. i can do rcn speedtest and get upwards of 2 to 3 mpbs download speeds. Im subscribed to 25mbps service. ive tried to change the channels that the router broadcasts on but i just cant get over 3mbps. RCN says the line is good. i had them swap out the modem and im still getting the same readings. now here comes the frustration. if i turn the wifi on on my iphone 4s and do a wifi only speedtest it pegs the meter to 20 -24 mbps. so with that i think its in the actually computer settings. ive looked throughout the menus and im drawing a blank. i google the issue and i only get old posts that talk about previous os issues. nothing recent. late lastnight i downloaded some apps from the mac app store but havent had the chance to test them out.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
