I am currently at a training college that has little to no Wifi, so I was going to pubs and public places to download Mavericks. However it is more often than not extremely slow, so I took my Retina Macbook Pro to an authorised reseller and they happily carried out the installation for me. For free. They didn't even charge me for their time.
I am loving Mavericks so far. The improvements made to the efficiency has really noticed, especially where battery life is concerned. I admit that I don't do a great deal of work on this and have yet to test Mavericks out fully, however it's always nice to play with a new OS.
I quite like the iBooks app but doubt I'll use it much. iPhoto looks pretty similar with a few tweaks. I will probably find Maps useful but I think I'll wait until it comes close to matching Google Maps with regard to functionality (e.g. Street View and knowing pretty much every business out there. Maps still doesn't do this).
Thought I'd just let you all know!
