Extremely frustrated with capturing 23.98 from a Canon HV40. Please help.

Okay this is the third time I've captured 23.98 footage from my Canon HV40 into FCP 6.0.4 and every single time it's done so, the video is slightly slowed down while the audio is on time. This is extremely frustrating as you can imagine. It took me at least 2 1/2 hours to capture and it's all gone to waste.

What is going on??!!!! Below is a pic of one of the clips' settings and my capture settings. Please sometime tell me what's going on and how to fix this.

I don't know if the HV40 is different, but on previous models you had to capture as 60i and run it thru Compressor to extract the 24p footage from the 60i stream.

On the HV40 did you record in native 24p or 24p Cinema Mode.
