I just upgraded my hard drive on my macbook 2,1 from the 80gb that it came with to a 250gb. After I restored my data from my Time Machine backup I decided to partition 25gb to Windows and install XP. After going through the process of slipstreaming XP and SP2 and getting it installed I began to notice what sounds like a water drop. Like if you had a leaky faucet and it was dripping into a bowl of water... I thought initially that it was the pipes, as the wall I sit facing while I'm on my computer holds piping for the washing machine. After becoming very annoyed with the sound I took my macbook to a quiet corner and confirmed that it was indeed coming from my computer. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? It happens whether I'm running XP or Leopard so it must be an issue with the hardware, but would a hard drive make a noise like that?
