Personally, I'm not very knowledgable about benchmark testing, but the top 2010 15" MBP shouldn't be beaten by a 2004 PowerBook, I know that much!
But my GeekBench results seems to be about whats expected. Not sure the difference of the two tho. And my computer is so slow its a joke!
I'm experiencing the computer locking up / freezing quite often. It doesn't necessarily have to be very heavy on the load. It can be for example running Spotify whily browsing the web (3-5 tabs open). Then it can freeze for ages, sometimes I need to do a hard shutdown by pressing the power button for 10sec.
I bought the MBP back in April 2010 so my warranty has expired, but without being skilled enough to make a good judgment; I'm still quite convinced there has to be some hardware issue.
Anyone here experiencing the same issues / knows how to resolve OR better the situation?
Thanks a million! Because it feels slower than my ASUS EEE netbook :/
PS.
From a very subjective view: It seems to be in the cases of running browser + media; spotify/vlc/chrome/firefox

I tried to reinstall Lion w/o success (though not a clean/fresh install); only using recovery HD.
- I reset the PRAM/NVRAM, I reset the SMC, none to success as I still see the problem.
- I tried to disable graphic switching - both through preferences as well as gfxCardStatus.
- My HDD has 300gb of 500 free.
