Upon the suggestions of everyone here, I picked up an EyeTV 200 and upgraded to EyeTV 2.1 software.

The unit works great but I've noticed these tiny black dots that blink in and out of the recording when watching TV or recording a show. The dots are all the same amount of space apart (about an inch) and number about 100 on the screen at once. I own a Macbook Pro and thought it was the Rosetta emulation that was causing the problem. However, even after updating to EyeTV 2.1 I noticed that the dots were still there.

Is this a hardware problem or perhaps an codec problem?

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Thx

I had black bars running randomly across the screen, it turned out to be a bad connection to my cable. Once I got that adjusted, it was fine.

I've noticed that the unit is fairly susceptible to moving around and causing the connection to be "off" a bit, resulting in worse-than-expected video quality.
