EyeTV 250 Aspect ratio

Hello,
A couple of months ago I bought the Elgato EyeTV EZ - TV tuner to connect to my Sky Digital Box.

The problem I had was that the recording aspect ratio was set to 4:3 and had not way of changing it to 16:9 for widescreen. I decided not to use this and wait for a better solution.

Now that Elgato has released the EyeTV 250 box I'm wondering if this will allow you to change the recording aspect ratio to widescreen?

If anyone knows for sure then I would appreciate this, as I've not been able to confirm either way from various different sources on the web.

What kind of Mac do you have?

Have you tried changing the recording quality in EyeTV? You have more then enough CPU power to do it. The maximum quality is 720 x 480 on the EyeTV EZ. Still, even with the built in MPEG-2 encoder you're just pushing the work off of your CPU to the EyeTV 250. You're still going to get 720 x 480 as the resolution.
