So I'd like to be able to use Fast User Switching (my wife's laptop died a while back and we moved her account onto my iMac), but the hitch we've run into is that it seems whenever another user is active EyeTV (which runs in my account) doesn't record scheduled shows (ie my account is logged in, but not active).

It was my understanding that this should work but I haven't been able to get it to work in the past. Anyone else have any luck with a setup like this? For the moment she just uses my account most of the time, but it'd be nice to not have to worry about it.

A while ago I had a slightly different problem related to EyeTV and fast user switching, and Elgato support quickly helped me solve it (although I don't remember the exact solution). Have you tried them? I've always found them very responsive.
