I just moved into a new place and when the cable guy came out and turned on my service I told him I was going to just use the internet in the room in which my computer resides and the outlet is. Ive changed my mind and want to use eyetv in here, but for some reason my eyetv isnt getting a cable signal. Is it possible they only activated this outlet for internet only or if he turned it on for internet which works fine then the cable tv signal is automatically turned on? I have two TVs in 2 other rooms that work fine so it isnt like I am just getting internet into my home and nothing else.

I am on Time Warner.

They probably installed a filter outside somewhere that blocks the TV signal(frequencies). <Edit- snip> call the cable company.
