EyeTV EZ bad picture quality

as the tittle suggests the TV quality (coaxial cable) from my EyeTV EZ is less than satisfying. Some channels are better/ worse than others. Also on *some* channels there is a lot of static in in the audio as well. However video from component video input is fine. See screen shots....

edit: also could some one tell me why the last screen shot is "thumbnailed"

This is awful basic, but have you gone through the entire setup to make sure there are no loose cables? I had this problem with my LCD TV showing flurries only for TV shown live and not for the DVR... it turned out that there was a loose cable on the little cable breakout box that splits the signal to the DVR and the cable modem.
