EyeTV Question!

Does EyeTV give me the ability to plug the coax cable from my wall into the EyeTV so I can view my Comcast Cable channels on the iMac?

I don't want to deal with analog, over-the-air, free HDTV - none of that.

I just want the ability to use my iMac as a TV with Comcast digital cable.

I can't seem to determine if this setup is possible from reading the EyeTV product info.

It depends on your level of service - "regular" digital or encrypted digital? The latest version of the EyeTV Hybrid I have supports clearQAM, and will allow viewing of unencrypted channels. I have mine directly cabled and it works great, even providing the electronic programming guide listing. I'm on TimeWarner and only subscribe to analog service, but am getting the basic digital channels as well, and network channels in HD.

If your cable box requires a CableCard, this device isn't going to work, since your signal is fully encrypted.
