EyeTV standard definition file sizes too large

I'm using Eye TV to record from satellite with the FireDTV S2 and Terratec Cinergy S USB. Lossless HD recordings (from BBC HD) have been fine, averaging from 7-9GB per hour, however lossless SD recordings are ending up at around 4GB per hour, when they should be around the 1.5GB mark. Can anyone tell me what is causing this? Thanks in advance.
