EyeTV to Quicktime

right, I have EyeTv 2.5.2 and want top export the video out to something that I can play through front row, ie a file that quicktime can handle. I have found the package that is being saved by Eyetv and found the .mpg file, however quicktime will not play this file even with the mpeg2 codec installed. Lastest version of quicktime is being used.

Any ideas?

P.S. I really do hope they introduce a nano macbook!
