Forget the fact this app has always been hard to navigate, icons that make no sense and really have nothing to do with the functions they represent, etc. Always been clunky but I've been using them since before iOS.
I've been using Flickr/Flickstackr for years on my iOS devices.
They got their account suspended with iOS 11 due to some violation. So they released a new app called PhotoExplorer, which was effin' identical just with a new name and icon - and which I actually had to pay $3 for which was totally asinine - and just now I go to use the app and they are like "yea we got busted for trying to pass off an identical app so now we are just done, thanks for your money last month."
What a load of ****.
[doublepost=1510719169][/doublepost]So it turns out the PhotoExplorer and FlickStacker apps aren't even official Flickr apps, they are third party garbage. So I guess screw that developer for jacking my $3.
So then I decided to try to see if I could just skip using an app altogether (never been one to use an app that just replaces a normal website anyway), and it looks like I can on my iPad - I can upload photos and share the BB code on forums. So the app is pointless on the iPad. I consider this a good thing.
But of course, trying to do that on my iPhone? How convenient there isn't an upload tool anywhere whatsoever on the phone website (doesn't appear to be a full website view either). So on my phone I have to have the app just to upload photos, which is just plain stupid. And then from there, even with the app, I can't copy the BB code, no, all I can get is a URL link for people to click on, so screw that. I don't get it - I have a simple workflow that I would wager is very similar to that of MANY other people:
1) Take picture with iPhone
2) Upload picture to Flickr with iPhone
3) Share an embedded image in a forum post with BB code from Flickr
You literally cannot do steps 1-3 with an iPhone by itself, with or without the iPhone app. You can do 1 and 2, but you need an iPad or a computer to do 3. At that point, what's the point? May as well just take a picture with my phone and just manually transfer it to my computer and upload on the website and skip the app completely.
Continuing with the theme, F flickr.
