F9 & F10 keys are said to be shorcuts but they do not work as they are sound up/down...what did i miss?

On other machines, they are Exposé shortcuts, but not on the MBP, you can set Exposé shortcuts in System Preferences->Keyboard and Mouse :)

what keyboard are you using? in the keyboard & mouse settings, there's a check box to use F-keys as standard function keys. this box needs to be unchecked for the special features (like volume up/down) to work. alternatively, pressing the f9/f10 with the "fn" key (if you have one) should produce the desired effect you're looking for without having to check the box in the keyboard prefs.

Thank you, usin Fn works fine, checking in KB & Mousse setting the KB shortct tab is greyed...not sure why. I have a UK International KB.
Do you know why my KB shortcut tab is greyed?
