Are there different levels of security associated with Face ID? My phone seems to instantly recognize my face from crazy angles and far way for just opening the home screen. But, when I use apps that have high security content (banking, etc.) it seems like they are much more picky about presenting my face to the screen. Is this just my imagination or something built in to the phone software?

Nobody on this forum or elsewhere knows exactly how Face ID works. We know the general concept, but the details are hidden from public view.
Maybe there are different layers of acceptability when it comes to apps using it. Who knows.
