You probably already know this, this is not new. But it's quite fascinating isn't it?

How many times do you unlock your device? According to Apple, about ~80 times a day. Every time you unlock your device, the dot projector shoots 30,000 lasers straight into your face and eyes to map your accurate facial geometry. You probably know the old saying about lasers? Anyway, it's completely safe according to Apple, as the the VCSEL used in iPhones emit only the healthy kind of lasers. So you should be good. It is proven to be completely safe; I strongly believe in what Apple says.

Go Face-ID! Screw Touch-ID.

Just use sunglasses and put sunscreen on your face all the time and you’ll be good and safe

I can hear the news headlines next year:

Man sues Apple for $10M after filing face cancer lawsuit from iPhone X use.

Good God.......

Infrared is totally safe to human. It’s understandable AS LONG AS u have a some physics knowledge from ur high school. Not to mention that the iPhone X is emitting a trivial amount of infrared.

Honestly, I prefer lasers in my face every time I open my iPhone to you in my face about how you don't like Face ID every time I open the forum. We get it. Don't you have something more enjoyable to do than bitch about a product you don't own, won't own?

Did you even read my first post? I'm all in for the future of Face-ID!
I just hope Apple adds an option to continuously authenticate the user with Face-ID at the expense of the battery (and may be a pair of other less important things). So if the iPhone detects another person, it automatically locks the phone without having to press the side button and auto unlocks as well when it "sees" the user.

Something has to bring down the mighty Apple.. May as well be a 340 million strong class action lawsuit from people blinded by face ID.

Ever see or read Day of the Triffids? Apple causes the fall of society when 1/3 of the population goes blind..
