so I have experience this, and many are talking about this, when you are in bed in the night, Face ID just stop working?
I think I may have found the cause for this. a lot of us who are experiencing this wear glasses. when we are in bed, we take off the glasses, and thus we hold the phone a lot closer to our face, even without us noticing it. if you just move your phone a little further away from your face, Face ID starts working again.

just give it a try.

I don’t wear glasses, but see this issue when in bed. It’s pretty much down to the angle I hold the phone when in bed. The camera isn’t properly pointing at my face most of the time and before i realise it’s already tried and failed to authenticate me and so the pin screen is showing.

since Friday night, i've had zero issues with TouchID. including laying down in bed in my dark room.

It’s new tech that makes us adjust our habits had this issue Saturday morning since then I’ve adjusted my angles issue gone!
