Is there more information about the improved angle?

This is one of my biggest pains of the Xs Max. It doesn't unlock while laying on the desk. I always have to lift it up. My OnePlus 7 Pro laying next to it is probably like 10x faster for unlocking with the in-display fingerprint.

So a much improved face unlock would be one of my top3 features of the iphone 11 Pro.

Did someone already covered that in a hands-on?

I would be interested in this subject too. Moreover, the question I ask myself is this:
When Apple says they have improved FaceID in regards to unlocking speed and angle, are they referring to the new software (iOS13) or to the new hardware (iPhone 11 (Pro))?

the promo video showed someone waking up and unlocking their phone without moving their head so that easter egg looks exciting..

It’s only the new phones because there are wider sensors. Nothing to do with iOS 13.

And the 30% improved unlocking speed is due to the software improvements in iOS 13?

The unlock speed is due to iOS 13. You can watch videos of people running the 13 beta on X and XS devices next to devices with iOS 12. The difference is noticeable.

If you turn off “requires attention” I noticed it unlocks more easily on my current xMax. It helps when driving as I don’t need to take eyes off road. Just be sure it can see my face when mounted on dash.

With attention on, camera looks for your eyes looking at phone. With it turned off, seems like facial map works at sharper angles.

The 11 Pro Max should work even better.
