This question is mainly for my case less brothers and sisters. Do you lay your phone face up or face down. Some people prioritize the screen others the camera. I once read a tech blog where the guy said he always laid it face down because the screen can be replaced or will be new with a new phone. Messed up photos are a bummer forever.

The title could definitely be read out of context. ;)

That being said face down is better IMO as it provides more privacy and more importantly it has less surface area of the case touching wherever it’s sat, provided there’s a lip that protects the display.

😐...I had not considered how that read...

Privacy is a good point. I don’t really worry too much about that since I have notification previews set to only show content after unlocking.
without a case it comes down to prioritization. Camera or screen. Granted I’m still mindful about where I put it down.

Face up. If something is going to get scratched when I move the phone around I want it to be the back.

If people are close enough to invade my privacy by reading what's on my screen…they get what they deserve.

I am the only one in the house. My son, my daughter and particularly my wife all lay their phones face down.

I go without a case and put it face down on softer surfaces and face up on hard surfaces. :)

I'm not a fan of the screen getting scratched up or dirty, so I never place it face down.

I don’t like scratches but given the choice I’d rather preserve the camera lenses and not ruin every picture I take. The screen will be new when I replace the phone. Can’t fix pictures taken with a scratched lens

Face up, the chances of scratching the sapphire camera lens covers is pretty slim.

Face up, rather have a scratch free screen than back glass. Don't think the camera lens would scratch that easily either.

There is a next to zero to zero chance the camera lens will get scratched by just placing your phone face up on a surface.
I always put down my iPhone face up and while the back has some (micro) scratches, the camera modul has ABSOLUTELY ZERO, not even a single micro scratch.

The camera lenses are much more scratch resistant, than the screen, because they have Sapphire coating, while the screen is softer to better absorb energy and withstand drops.

lol that’s fair. I always thought the camera lenses could scratch beaded on the JerryRigEverything videos.

I do both.

I've had my X for ~3 years now, and the desire to keep it immaculate has worn off. Started going caseless a couple months ago. I do keep a glass screen protector on the front, though!

Face up every time for me. I'd prefer the back to get scratched up (although my son has gotten hold of my phone frequently and the front screen has numerous scratches on it anyway).

I always keep my phone in a case. But if I were to use it without case, I would keep it screen side up.
