Facebook and the 'data wheel' spinning

The 'data wheel' icon (next to the 3G symbol, sorry, don't know what it's called) is always spinning while I'm in the Facebook app. Does Facebook constantly pull data? I have location services off for FB.

It could be loading stuff in the background of your news feed.

Spins for a few seconds for me, while it's updating posts - then quits.

Yeah I noticed that too. I also have location services off. I noticed that if I go out of the app and leave it running in the background it drains my battery life. I always log out, go out of it and then clear it out of multitasking and noticed a difference in battery.

Just tried logging out of the app, killing the app and then went back in. Problem did not come back. But, I don't want to do this every time. Let's see what happens.

UPDATE: since doing this (logging out, killing app, logging back in) the problem has not returned. will keep an eye on it.
